Shrinkage & spirality in knitting depends on
1. Fabric type
S/j, pique, lacoste, fleece, rib, interlock has different shrinkage %
2. Machine dia vs finish dia
For s/j 160 GSM in 30"x24gg machine finish dia is 63"op but if you select 66"op then snkg & sp will be rough.
3. Yarn count vs GSM
For plain s/j 180 GSM count is 24/s but if it is cvc slub then count is 26/s. If you select 24/s cvc slub then snkg & sp will be rough.
4. Stitch length
For 160 GSM fabric count is 26/s & s/L- 2.85-2.90 avg color. If it is cvc slub fabric & you select 26/s yarn, for GSM control s/L is 3.15 that is poor for snkg & sp. Actually for cvc slub count will be 28/s & s/L- 2.90
5. No. of machine feeder
If shrinkage & spirality is more then decrease 1/3 feeder in the machine for good snkg & sp.
6. Machine gauge
Every count has perfect gauge. Such as 30-40/s gauge is 28. 24-30/s gauge is 24. 16-20/s gauge is 20. It is also responsible for snkg & sp.
7. Twist direction of yarn vs machine rotation
If machine rotation is anti clockwise then yarn twist will be S- twist.
